Well-known tutorial maker Izzy Video has a collection of 18 titles here, in 2D and 3D. These are more suitable for full-screen titles than lower thirds, and even though the Custom title will let you create many of these effects, these are more convenient.

These general-purpose titles are elegant, and just a little different. They’ve got plenty of other freebies available too, along with many tutorials, so check them out.
