One of the great strengths of FCP X is the titling workflow, and while many 2D and 3D titles are included, one notable omission is a title with a blurred background. We’re used to seeing blurred backgrounds behind titles on iPhones, and it’s a modern style that works well.
To grab it, head here, then download the installer from Alex4D’s linked page. After you restart FCP X, head to the Title browser, and look for the (probably new) Alex4D category. Drag the Alex4D Transparent Blur title above a clip in your timeline, and you’re ready to go.
As you’d expect, the text can be edited after a quick double-click, and the blurred background area animates in and out. There’s an on-screen control for instant dragging of Edge Position, and it’s possible not only to control the brightness and blur of the background area, but also the side of the screen it emerges from.
Having recently worked on a project that used this title, it’s recommended — simple, modern, and with all the options you need. If you find it useful, make a donation to Alex4D through his page.
